About Me

I wish I could say I’ve traveled the world and am here to tell you all about it and all the cool things I’ve seen and done over the years. I have a true appreciation for those people. But the truth is, I simply haven’t been bitten by the proverbial travel bug.

But I have been bitten by the bug that tells me to escape this Canadian climate that is my life and head to the sunny tropics every chance I get.

Instead of world traveler, I’m what you’d call … a tropical traveler (or tropical tourist).

Let me explain.

Holding the sun

After my husband proposed in 2008, we opted to escape the cold winter and head to Jamaica for a destination wedding.

It was the first time I had been to a tropical paradise, and after a week of being immersed in all its awesomeness, I vowed it wouldn’t be my last.

Since then, I’ve been going to the Caribbean every chance I get. I don’t consider any other type of vacation or travel destination. It’s just the way it is.

The other thing you might want to know about me is I’m a writer (former journalist), and I love to write about things that make me happy. So here I am — writing about my travels to paradise and sharing it all with you. Every last detail.

And while I’m hoping to help you relive the memories of your tropical journeys, while obviously reliving every moment of mine, I’m also hoping to educate those who are new to the scene by providing advice, tips, and resources on where to go, what to do, and how to do it, among other things.

So if you are a seasoned tropical tourist or if you’re just getting going, this site should provide you with everything you need.

That’s me in a nutshell: I love to write and I love traveling to the tropics.

Anything else you want to know about me? Just ask.

Oh…one more thing…let’s say you find my posts interesting or informative, well you should know that I wouldn’t fault you for subscribing to me and following me on the usual social media sites. It might even make my day, ya know?
